Redline Role-playing (8k)

So, you have your fancy $150,000 Interceptor, loaded with the latest in high tech weaponary and equipment. Exactly how does that vehicle work with Redline? Well, read on and all shall be revealed!

Firstly, build your vehicle as per the normal Dark Future rules, and then use the following tables and notes to convert to Redline.

5-foot spaces:
Jetcopters have a 9x9 danger space for their rotors.

Top Speed:
Use the Dark Future top speed and adjust with Table 6.1: Speed Conversions, rounding down.

Hardness:
Multiple the Dark Future armour value by 3. Do this for Carbon Plastic and Carbon Steel separately as this will be important for armour piercing weapons.

HP:
Multiple the vehicles maximum damage score by 2.

Handling:
Divide the vehicles Handling by 2, round down.

Acc:
Use the Dark Future acceleration, and adjust with Table 6.1: Speed Conversions, rounding down.

Passenger Vulnerability:
A tricky one to call. If the vehicle is fully enclosed (like the Interceptor or Jetcopter), then the score is 19-20. If the vehicle is partially open (like the Renegade), then the score is 17-20. If the vehicle is fully open (like a bike or trike), then the score is 14-20.

Weapons:
Weapons are mounted as per Redline, but unless a turret is mounted, most weapons will be solid mounts.

Example - Dominic deSades Interceptor:
This is taken directly from the article on the Good Guys and shows a typical conversion. It is armed with a chaingun (double mag, turret with total vertical swivel mount), 2 linked heavy lasers (solid forward mount).

V8 Interceptor: Size Large (2x3 spaces), Folks 1, Top Speed 19, AC 18, Hardness 12 (carbon plastic), HP 48, Handling +2, Acc 3, Passenger Vulnerability 19-20.

Example - Carlos "Sidewinder" Vasuez's Renegade:
This is taken from the Sand Cats article. It is armed with a 15mm autocanon (depleted uranium rounds, solid forward), 2x 6mm machine guns (solid foward mount) and a mine layer.

V12 Renegade: Size Large (2x3 spaces), Folks 1, Top Speed 25, AC 18, Hardness 9, 12 rear, HP 36, Handling +2, Acc 4, Passenger Vulnerability 17-20.

Example - Typical Media Jetcopter:
This is taken from the Jetcopters article. Armed with 2x linked 6mm machine guns (solid forward mount), tv camera in total vertical swivel mount under.

TV Jetcopter: Size Huge (2x4 spaces), Folks 4, Top Speed 38, AC 16, Hardness 9, HP 60, Handling +2, Acc 4, Passenger Vulnerability 19-20.
